No Communication With Engine Control Module/Powertrain Control Module: Testing
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK position. Locate Engine Control Module (ECM) or Powertrain Control Module (PCM). See Figure . Check ECM connector C-122 or PCM connector C-119 for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. See Figure or Figure . If connections are okay, go to next step. If faulty connections are found, repair as necessary.
- Check intermediate connectors C-140 and C-25. Repair or replace if necessary. Check for open or short to ground in Gray/Red wire between Data Link Connector (DLC) C-26 terminal No. 1, and ECM connector C-122 terminal No. 85 or PCM connector C-119 terminal No. 85. See Figure . If problem exists, repair Gray/Red wire. Recheck communication. If problem exists, repair Red/White wire. Recheck communication. If problem does not exist, go to BATTERY & IGNITION VOLTAGE CHECK in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - SEBRING COUPE & STRATUS COUPE article.
