Connector Repairs

  1. Before performing wire repairs, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
  2. Using Insert Tool (951 2632), release primary lock from back of connector. Remove damaged connector or terminals. If terminal must be replaced, ensure wire is sufficient to reach connector after new terminal is installed without tension in wire. Splice wire if tension will exist after terminal is installed. See WIRE REPAIR  .
  3. Install new terminal and crimp to wire with Press Tool (951 2648). Install terminal in connector and reconnect. Activate SRS system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
