Led Indicator
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Connect scan tool and use activation function to command LED to come on. The LED should illuminate. If LED illuminates, LED is operating properly. If LED does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Disconnect LED indicator. Check VGLA and LED indicator connectors for loose or corroded terminals. Repair as necessary. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Use activation function to command LED to come on. If LED light illuminates, symptom has been repaired. If LED does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Check for open or short to ground in Red wire between VGLA control module connector terminal B4 and LED indicator connector terminal No. 1. Check for open in Black wire between ground and LED connector terminal No. 2. See Figure. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. If circuits were faulty, go to step 5. If circuits are okay, go to next step.
- Replace LED indicator. Go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Reconnect all disconnected components. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Use activation function to command LED to come on. If LED illuminates, symptom has been repaired. If LED does not illuminate, fault is still present.
