| Initial vehicles storage |
Storage location conditions |
Checking before storage |
- Ideally all vehicles should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated area and be protected from direct sunlight. Leave sufficient space between vehicles to allow for the specified periodic inspections and maintenance.
- If storage must be done outside, the ground must be paved and should be well drained. Weeds or muddy surfaces are not allowed. Avoid parking the vehicles under trees, power lines or outdoor lights.
- Ideal storage condition for HV Battery: Humidity <95% & temp is recommended (10 degC to 35 deg C for LFP Gotion) & (15 degC to 35 deg C for NMC CATL)
|
| Vehicle parking condition |
Checking before storage |
- Do not apply the parking brake (if possible). Ensure the P gear selector is engaged to stop the vehicle from moving.
NOTE:
when parking on a slope, place a block behind the Tires.
- The HVAC controls should be set to the "Inside Air" mode to prevent dust from entering the vehicle.
- Ensure that windows, doors, bonnet, boot and sunroof are completely closed and that interior and exterior lights are turned off.
- Ensure that the vehicle is completely locked (if possible).
|
| Body & chassis |
Checking before storage |
- Thoroughly clean the entire body and chassis. Doors and windows must be completely closed, water entries must be checked.
- Bugs or bird droppings must be removed as they can cause paint damage.
- Do not remove any of the vehicle protection used during transport as they are also designed to prevent damage during storage. These include (when applied) interior covers, bumper protectors, wiper protectors, etc
|
| Tires |
Checking before storage |
To prevent flat spots on Tires, the tire pressure should not be below the highest nominal values. It is normal for the vehicles to leave the factory with over-inflated Tires. Recommend increasing the tire pressure to 3 bar before storage. |
| 12V battery |
Checking before storage |
- - If a vehicle is handed over to the customer within 30 days of the Vehicle Arrival Date (VAD), the vehicle battery will only need to be tested at customer handover.
- - If the vehicle is NOT handed over to the customer within 30 days the battery must be tested by battery tester to make sure good battery before Storage Stage. When carrying out a Vehicle Arrival battery test, the battery must be inside and connected to the vehicle.
- - If a vehicle arriving at the Dealership, cannot be started due to a zero or low charge battery, the Dealer must:
- + Record this failure
- + Recover the vehicle to the workshop and test the 12V battery
- + Where a battery can be recharged to give a "GOOD-BATTERY" test result, no further action is required.
- - If the vehicle battery cannot be recharged, a new battery is required before storage
- - The battery terminals must be disconnected before storage.
|
| HV battery |
Checking before storage |
- - The Li-ion battery must be charged to 100% before storage.
- - If an EV arriving at the EV Dealer cannot be started due to zero or low charge in the Li-ion battery, the Dealer must:
- + Record the failure.
- + Recover the vehicle to the workshop and check for a Li-ion battery fault.
- + Solve HV battery can be solved as GRSC's recommendation.

| Storage/Maintenance |
Body & chassis |
Monthly |
- Check the vehicle is clean and wash the vehicle (if required).
- Visual inspection under the vehicle (on the ground) to spot any possible leaks or fluid trace on the ground.
|
| Tires |
Monthly |
Move the vehicle for approximately one-quarter turn of the wheels to prevent flat spots on the Tires. Visually check the Tires for damage and ensure that the pressure does not fall below the highest nominal values (follow vehicle tire label). |
| Condensation |
Monthly |
- Check for condensation inside the vehicle and in the boot.
- The HVAC controls should be set to the "Inside Air" mode to prevent dust from entering the vehicle.
- If there is any evidence of water ingress, it should be rectified immediately.
|
| Function |
Monthly |
- Carry out a general inspection of vehicle function operation and minor damage (Lights, Horn, Steering wheel, Seats, MDU, A/C).
- Check that wiper blades are not damaged and that protectors (if applied) remain in place.
|
| Fluid levels |
Monthly |
Check and maintain fluid levels within level standard. |
| 12V battery |
Monthly |
Whilst in storage, it is mandatory to test the battery monthly and charged if necessary. When carrying out a Storage/Maintenance battery test, the battery must be inside and connected to the vehicle. After the test the battery should be disconnected. |
| HV battery |
Monthly |
- Monthly check and maintain SOC always is above 30% (preferable 30%-60%).
- The Li-ion battery must be charged to at least once per month to 100% SOC.
|
| Drive the vehicle within the parking area |
Every two months and beyond |
Use the brake pedal to remove surface rust on the rotors. |
| Protection film |
Every 6 months |
Film must be removed and new film to be installed. |
