Outside Molding: Replacement

HINT:

Heating temperature: 

HEATING TEMPERATURE

Item Temperature
Body 40 to 60° C (104 to 140°F)
Moulding 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
NOTE: Do not heat the body and molding excessively.
  1. REMOVE OUTSIDE MOLDING 
    1. Using a heat light heat the molding.
    2. Tie both piano wire ends to wooden block or similar object.
    3. Scrape the double-sided tape off by pulling the piano wire as shown in the illustration.

    NOTE:
    • If reusing the molding, take care not to damage the molding.
    • Do not damage the body.
  2. INSTALL OUTSIDE MOLDING 
    1. Using a heat light, heat the body.
    2. Remove the protective tape from the body.
    3. Wipe off the stains with cleaner.
    4. Clean the molding (if reusing the molding).
      1. Using a heat light, heat the molding.
      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the molding.
      3. Wipe off the stains with cleaner.
      4. Apply new bouble-sided tape to the molding as shown in the illustration.

    5. Using a heat light, heat the body and molding.
    6. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the molding and attach the molding securely to the vehicle body.
      NOTE: Be careful that dirt or foreign objects do not stick to adhesive part when removing the peeling paper.
    7. Push the molding to the body.
    NOTE: Do not apply excessive force onto the molding. Instead, apply steady pressure with your thumbs.
