Cruise Control Switch: Set/Coast

With CRUISE ON-OFF switch on, and vehicle speed greater than 25 MPH, move cruise control switch stalk lever downward to SET/COAST position, then release. ECM will store cruise control set speed and maintain that set speed.

To decrease cruise control set speed, move cruise control switch stalk lever to SET/COAST position. Throttle valve angle will be reduced by ETCS and vehicle speed will decelerate until cruise control switch stalk lever is released. ECM will store and maintain a new cruise control set speed for actual speed of the vehicle at the time cruise control switch stalk lever was released. Tapping cruise control switch stalk lever to SET/COAST position will reduce cruise control set speed by about 1.5 MPH (also referred to as tap-down function).
