Speed Sensor Diagnostics

NOTE: Manufacturer requires the use of Toyota hand-held tester (scan tool) to perform speed sensor diagnosis, although aftermarket scan tool may be adequate to test speed sensor circuits.

Connect scan tool to DLC3. Start engine. Drive vehicle faster than 28 MPH in a straight line for several seconds while not allowing wheels to spin out. Read DTC on scan tool. Follow scan tool operator's manual for further diagnostic instructions. See DTC DEFINITIONS .
