Automatic Transmission

  1. Turn ignition OFF. Disconnect neutral start switch connector. Check for continuity between terminal 3 of connector and body ground. See Fig 1.

  2. If no continuity is present, check for open between terminal 3 and body ground.
  3. If continuity is present, check neutral start switch operation. There should be continuity between terminals 2 and 3 of neutral/start switch with gear selector lever in "PARK" or "NEUTRAL" ranges. See Fig 1. If there is no continuity, replace neutral start switch. If switch is operating properly, reconnect neutral start switch connector. Disconnect computer connector, check for continuity between terminal 11 and body ground when shifted to "NEUTRAL" and "PARK" range. See Fig 1.
  4. If no continuity is present, check for open between terminal 11 of computer and terminal 2 of neutral start switch. If continuity is present, replace cruise control computer.
