Power Steering Pump
Cressida and Pickup power steering pump uses an engine-driven rotor with vane plates, an eccentric cam ring and flow control valve to regulate maximum oil pressure and amount of oil flow.
Land Cruiser power steering pump components include an engine-driven eccentric rotor, a fixed ring having 6 slotted grooves with 6 slippers, and a flow control valve to regulate maximum oil pressure and amount of oil flow.
Slippers or vane plates (fitted in each slotted groove) are pressed against rotor or cam ring surface by pressure produced in adjoining slots or by spring tension. As rotor rotates, space between the rotor and ring changes, which produces oil pressure.
