Code 65

NOTE: Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . After repairs are complete, activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .

Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Disconnect connector AB26 from right seat belt pretensioner. See SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect connector AB26 to test harness "L" (98299FE000), connector 1L. See Figure. Connect air bag resistor to test harness "L", connector 3L. Connect negative battery cable. Turn ignition on. If AIR BAG warning light operates properly, replace seat belt pretensioner. If AIR BAG warning light does not operate properly, go to next step.
Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least 20 seconds. Disconnect air bag resistor from test harness "L". Disconnect right side air bag module connectors AB24 and AB25 located under seat. See Figure. Disconnect air bag control module connectors AB17 and AB18. See AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect connector AB18 to test harness "I" (98299FC040) or I2 (98299FC041), connector 1I. See Figure or Figure . Connect negative battery cable. Measure voltage between ground and test harness "I" or I2, connector 3I, terminal No. 6. Measure voltage between ground and test harness "I" or I2, connector 3I, terminal No. 8. If voltage is less than one volt, replace air bag control module. If voltage is more than one volt, replace body harness with side air bag harness.
