Description & Operation: Notes

Throttle plate position is controlled by vacuum-powered actuator assembly located in engine compartment. Based on inputs from system components, control unit sends signals to solenoid-operated valves in actuator assembly to maintain constant vehicle speed. Actuator assembly consists of a vacuum valve, vent valve, safety valve and rubber diaphragm. SeeFig 1 .

Speed cannot be set if vehicle speed is less than 25 MPH. Control unit disengages system if engine speed is 6000 RPM or greater, or if control unit receives a signal indicating one or more of following conditions exist.
