Control Unit: Removal

Before proceeding, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Disable SRS. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Control unit is located under front console box. See Fig 1 .

Remove lower trim panel from dash. Unplug air bag module 3-pin Yellow connector AB3 and AB8 at base of steering column. See Fig 2 . Remove console box. Unplug control unit connectors. Remove 2 Torx bolts. Discard Torx bolts. Remove control unit.
