Clutch Assembly: Installation

  1. Install clutch release lever and release bearing holder. Lubricate inner groove of release bearing holder, transaxle mainshaft spline and contact surfaces of release lever with a light coat of molybdenum disulfide grease.
  2. Use clutch alignment tool to position clutch disc against flywheel. Position clutch cover against disc. Tighten cover bolts in a crisscross pattern. Install transaxle in vehicle.
  3. Ensure NEW roll pins are installed in axle shafts. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Adjust free play. See CLUTCH RELEASE FORK FREE PLAY  under ADJUSTMENTS.
