Removal (Legacy)

  1. Before proceeding, disable Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). To disable SRS, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect and shield negative and then positive battery cables. After battery cables have been disconnected, wait about 10 minutes before servicing SRS.
  2. Ensure front wheels are in a straight-ahead position. Disconnect combination switch connectors. Remove covers from both sides of steering wheel. Disconnect air bag module and horn connectors. Remove 4 Torx bolts securing air bag module to steering wheel. Remove air bag module.
