Throttle Position Sensor

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 1988 Subaru XT6, 1988 Subaru XT, 1988 Subaru RX, 1988 Subaru GL-10, and 1988 Subaru GL. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Throttle position sensor is provided along with a potentiometer (variable resistor) and idle switch. Throttle position sensor sends MPFI control unit a potentiometer output signal corresponding to opening of throttle valve and an idle switch signal that turns on only when throttle is nearly to idle position. MPFI control unit uses these signals to control air/fuel ratio during acceleration and deceleration, and idling.
