Front Window Malfunction
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the door lock window switch.
- Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the ignition circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Ignition OFF, connect the X2 harness connector at the door lock window switch and disconnect the harness connector at the window control module.
- Test for less than 1 ohm between the ground circuit terminal 5 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the ignition circuit terminal 8 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Connect a test lamp between the appropriate signal circuit terminal listed below and ground:
- Command the power window DOWN by using the window switch on the door lock window switch. The test lamp should illuminate during the DOWN command.
- If the test lamp is always OFF, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the door lock window switch.
- If the test lamp is always ON, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the door lock window switch.
- Connect a test lamp between the appropriate signal circuit terminal listed below and ground:
- Command the power window UP by using the window switch on the door lock window switch. The test lamp should illuminate during the UP command.
- Ignition OFF, connect the harness connector at the window control module and disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate front window motor.
- Test for less than 5 ohms between the control circuit terminal A and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the window control module.
- Test for less than 5 ohms between the control circuit terminal B and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the window control module
- Ignition ON, connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminal A and control circuit terminal B.
- Command the power window UP and DOWN by using the window switch on the door lock window switch. The test lamp should illuminate during the UP and DOWN command.
- If the test lamp is always OFF during either for the commands, test either control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the window control module.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the front window motor.
