Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.

  4. Lift up on the cable retainers.
  5. Disconnect the cable ends from the shifter.

  7. Depress the locking tabs and remove the forward cable from the anchor.
  8. Remove the Air Inlet Duct.

  10. On the transmission end, disconnect the cable from the shift actuator.

  12. Remove both cables from the underhood cable bracket.
  13. Position aside the passenger front carpet. Refer to Carpet Replacement - Front in Interior Trim.

  15. Remove the right rear floor duct elbow.

  17. Separate the grommet from the floor plan.
  18. Pull the cables through the passenger floor opening.
