Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT CAUTION .

Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY REPLACEMENT in Engine Electrical.
Remove the center instrument trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CENTER in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
Remove the instrument compartment. Refer to COMPARTMENT REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
Remove the front floor console. Refer to TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - FRONT FLOOR CONSOLE in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

Push in the retaining clip, then disconnect the cable from the shifter assembly.
Using a screwdriver, disconnect the park lock cable from the bracket.

Disconnect the shift select cable from the manual selector lever.

Using a screwdriver, disconnect the shift select cable from the shift lever plate.

Disconnect the electrical connectors, then the wire harness clip.

Remove the 4 nuts, then the manual selector from the vehicle.
