Removal & Installation: Compressor: Installation

CAUTION:
The replacement compressor is shipped without oil. See SPECIFICATIONS for compressor oil capacity. Add the proper amount of PAG oil to the compressor crankcase.
- Install the compressor drain plug. Tighten the drain plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the A/C compressor. Install the A/C compressor front bolts. Tighten the bolts to specification.
- Install the A/C compressor top bolts. Tighten the bolts to specification. Install the A/C compressor rear bolts. Tighten the bolts to specification. Install the A/C compressor hose bolt. Tighten the bolts to specification. Install the sealing washers. Connect the A/C compressor hose assembly to the rear of the A/C compressor.
- Connect the electrical connector to the A/C compressor. Install the engine splash shield to the right side. Lower the vehicle. Install the lower radiator air baffle. Install the generator.
- Install the right sheet metal diagonal brace. Evacuate, charge, and leak test A/C system. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING.
