Automatic Temperature Control: Components: Aspirator
To provide accurate sensing of car interior temperature, a small amount of air is drawn into in-car sensor housing and passed over the bi-metal sensor. This air movement is accomplished by use of an aspirator mounted on top of heater assembly. A hose connects in-car sensor housing to the aspirator. Aspirator is a "tube-within-a-tube" arrangement: Air from heater case Is discharged out the main (outer) tube. This air stream causes a suction at end of inner tube so that air flows out of it also. Aspirator is equipped with a shield to prevent outlet end from being blocked.
