Ignition Timing

Set timing with engine at 850 RPM with distributor vacuum line disconnected and plugged  .

Set with brake applied, Auto. Trans. in Drive, Air Cond. OFF, transmission stator in high angle position, and hot idle compensator held closed. Auto. Level Control Pump must be inoperative.

(1) Standard Air Conditioning OFF; Comfortron Air Conditioning ON. Set models with Comfortron at 500 RPM.
(2) Controlled Combustion System to reduce exhaust gas contaminants with a specially calibrated carburetor.
(3) Set idle speed in Drive to 625 RPM, then lean to 600 RPM (Air Conditioner must be OFF, and idle compensator disconnected and plugged).
