Air Regulator
The air regulator provides an air by-pass when engine is cold for fast idle during warm-up. A bimetallic heater and rotary shutter valve control the rate of air by-passing. See Fig 1 . When the bimetallic heater and shutter are cold, air by-pass port is open. As engine starts and an electrical current is permitted to flow through the bimetallic heater, it warms up and closes the air by-pass port. The air regulator and fuel pump are both energized by the fuel pump relay.
