Intermittent Wiper Does Not Operate

  1. Perform POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT CHECK under PRELIMINARY CHECK. Check TCU output for wiper relay circuit. Turn wiper switch to INT. Turn ignition switch to ACC. Measure voltage between terminals 15 and 2 of TCU harness connector. Voltage should vary between 12V and 0V every 3 to 12 seconds. If output is not as specified, go to step 2). If output is okay, check wiper relay operation. If relay is okay, check harness between TCU and wiper relay. If relay is not okay, replace relay.
  2. Check wiper switch circuit. Turn wiper switch to INT. Turn ignition switch to OFF. Measure voltage between terminals 12 and 2 of TCU harness connector. Voltage should be 0V with wiper switch in INT, and 12V with wiper switch OFF. If voltage is as specified, replace TCU. If voltage is not as specified, check harness between TCU and wiper switch. If harness is okay, replace wiper switch.
