Front Axle: General Description: Notes
The front axle consists of front hubs, knuckles, wheel bearings and drive shafts, and it has the following features:
- The wheel bearing is a double-row angular contact ball bearing which incorporates the oil seals and is highly resistant to a thrust load.
- A five-hole large hub is used to improve rigidity and strength.
- The drive shaft incorporates BJ-PTJ type constant velocity joints with high transmission efficiency and low vibration and noise.
- The dynamic damper has been mounted on the left drive shaft < FWD >, the right and left drive shafts < AWD > to reduce differential gear noise.
- Due to the use of the inner shaft and bracket assembly, the right and left drive shafts are approximately the same in length. This reduces noise, vibration and torque steer.< FWD >
- Due to the use of the output shaft, the right and left drive shafts are approximately the same in length. This reduces noise, vibration and torque steer. < AWD >
