Torque Tube: Reassembly

  1. Using Bearing Installer (MB990941-01) and Handle (MIT208977), install bearing in torque tube until bearing installer contacts torque tube. Apply grease to pocket and spline of differential side of extension shaft.
  2. Install bearing retaining snap ring. Install extension shaft in torque tube. Install companion flange with mating marks aligned. Install new companion flange retaining nut.
  3. Temporarily tighten retaining nut. Install torque tube as previously described. Hold extension shaft by applying the parking brake. Tighten companion flange retaining nut to specification.
