Cruise Control Systems: Operation
The cruise control system is operated by a steering column mounted switch. Switch has 4 positions, "ON", "OFF", "SET" and "RESUME". In the "ON" position, current flows to the system, and both system and indicator light are energized. When switch is in the "OFF" position, cruise control is cancelled.
"SET" position sets cruise control by outputting signal to self-holding circuit and memory circuits. It may also be used to reduce or slightly increase vehicle speed. "RESUME" position transmits signal to self-holding circuit to resume speed previously cancelled.
