  1. Check Connections For Damage  - Turn ignition off. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Access ECS module and disconnect harness connector. See ELECTRONIC CRASH SENSOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Inspect ECS module terminals and module harness connector terminal No. 19 (Orange/Light Blue wire) for damage. If module terminals and module harness connector terminal No. 19 are okay, go to next step. If module terminals and module harness connector terminal No. 19 are damaged, repair/replace as necessary. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
  2. Check DLC For Damage  - Inspect Data Link Connector (DLC) and DLC connector terminal No. 7 (Orange/Light Blue wire) for damage. DLC is located under left side of instrument panel. If DLC connector and DLC connector terminal No. 7 (Orange/Light Blue wire) is okay, go to next step. If DLC connector and DLC connector terminal No. 7 (Orange/Light Blue wire) is damaged, repair/replace as necessary. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
  3. Check Circuit 70 For Open  - Measure resistance of Orange/Light Blue wire between DLC connector terminal No. 7 and ECS module harness connector terminal No. 19. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace ECS module. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Orange/Light Blue wire. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
