Fuel Pump Module: Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Dodge Sprinter. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The fuel pump module is installed in the top of the fuel tank (Fig 1 ). The pump module contains the following components:
- Electric fuel pump (transfer, or lift pump)
- Fuel reservoir
- Fuel gauge sending unit (fuel level sensor)
- Fuel supply line connection
- Fuel return line connection
Fuel is supplied to the high-pressure fuel injection pump by the low-pressure fuel transfer (lift) pump. This electric fuel pump is attached to the fuel pump module. A low-pressure fuel pump is not attached to the engine.
