Opening trunk lid, function

Requirements

Possible control points for system actuation "Open"

Operating procedure

    1. Actuate open/close trunk lid switch (S20/1s8).

IMPORTANT The signal is read in by the left front door control module (N69/1) and transmitted to the CAN class B bus.

    2. Actuate trunk lid exterior actuation switch (S88/8).

IMPORTANT The signal is read in by the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

  1. The rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) actuates the CL trunk lid motor (M14/7) to unlock the trunk lid lock.
  2. The signal "Trunk lid lock unlocked" of the trunk lid rotary tumbler microswitch (S17/8) is transmitted to the RTL control module (N121) by the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) via the CAN class B bus.
  3. The RTL control module (N121) actuates the trunk lid drive motor (M15/2).

IMPORTANT The value from the trunk lid opening angle recognition sensor (B24/16) allows the RTL control module (N121) to recognize the end position of the trunk lid.

  4. The RTL control module (N121) actuates the motor for the trunk lid power locking unit (6) until the striker eye is in the lower end position..

IMPORTANT The lower end position is recognized by the power locking switch (S88/14).

IMPORTANT Actuation of the trunk lid can always be terminated by actuating any control point. The interrupted procedure can be continued by actuating again.

Lock-up recognition:

Lock-up is recognized when the value of the trunk lid opening angle recognition sensor (B24/16) does not change during actuation of the trunk lid drive motor (M15/2).

In this case the actuation is interrupted and the trunk lid remains its momentary position.
