Front Axle Adjustment
WARNING:
When making adjustments to torsion bars, DO NOT unscrew bolt (16c) fully, otherwise the torsion bar spring will release suddenly.
On vehicles with incorrect vehicle level at front axle, adjust by changing the tension setting of torsion bar springs. Mark or count number of times bolt (16c) is turned. See Fig 1 .
- Set vehicle level by turning the bolt (16c) at the rear torsion bar spring mount on the left and right:
- Turn bolt (16c) clockwise vehicle is raised.
- Turn bolt (16c) counterclockwise vehicles lowered.
- The vehicle level must be adjusted evenly on both sides. If the vehicle level cannot be adjusted using the bolt (16c), check the vehicle frame and crossmember for kinks and bending (visual inspection).
