EGR Cooler Removal/Installation: Notes

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Drain the engine coolant. (See Engine Coolant Replacement .)
  3. Remove the plug hole plate. (See Plug Hole Plate Removal/Installation .)
  4. Disconnect the wiring harness clips from the EGR cooler.

  5. Disconnect the EGR valve connector. (See EGR Valve Removal/Installation .)
  6. Disconnect the exhaust gas pressure sensor connector. (See Exhaust Gas Pressure Sensor Removal/Installation .)
  7. Disconnect the MAP sensor/IAT sensor No. 2 connector. (See Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor/Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor NO. 2 Removal/Installation .)
  8. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

    COMPONENT DESCRIPTION

    1 Insulator
    2 Water hose No. 1
    (See Water Hose No. 1 Installation Note .)
    3 EGR cooler installation bolt
    (See EGR Cooler Installation Bolt Removal Note .)
    (See EGR Cooler Installation Bolt Installation Note .)
    4 Water hose No. 2
    5 Water hose No. 3
    6 EGR cooler
    7 EGR valve
    8 Exhaust gas pressure sensor
    (See EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
