Power Steering Pump: Installation

  1. Using Pulley Replacer (T65P-3A733-C ), install pulley on pump shaft. Ensure pulley is within .010" (.25 mm) from end of pump shaft.
  2. Place pump assembly on mounting bracket. Install and tighten bracket bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Install drive belt on pulley. Lift tensioner in counterclockwise direction (B2300 and B4000) or clockwise direction (B3000), and slide belt under tensioner. Lower tensioner.
  3. Install lines to pump. Tighten pump quick-connect fitting to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Fill reservoir. Start engine. Turn wheel from stop-to-stop to bleed air from system. Recheck reservoir. Refill reservoir (as necessary).
