Steering Column: Installation

  1. Fit column into vehicle. Replace packing washers and loosely attach column clamp bolts under instrument panel. If packing washers have been lost or if new column is being installed, column must be realigned. See Column Alignment in this Section. 
  2. Connect wiring plug and set wheels straight ahead. Slide steering shaft into "U" joint, making sure grooves align with pinch bolt holes. Fit pinch bolt and tighten.
