Retrieving Diagnostic Trouble Codes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Lincoln Town Car. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Before beginning testing, retrieve any existing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Use New Generation Star (NGS) Tester (007-00500) connected to Data Link Connector (DLC), located below instrument panel to perform data link diagnostics test. See ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST in MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article. Make any repairs that may be indicated. If DTCs are retrieved, go to appropriate test. If no applicable DTCs exist, go to appropriate symptom related test.
