Pinpoint Test F - Wipers Continue To Run When Switch Is Off

  1. Turn ignition on. Disconnect wiper switch. If wipers continue to run, go to next step. If wipers stop, replace wiper switch.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Interval Wiper/Washer Module (IWWM) wiper connector. IWWM is located behind instrument panel, to left of steering column. Disconnect wiper motor connector. Check all wires for short to ground, short to voltage, or short to each other. Repair wiring as necessary. If wiring is okay, go to next step.
  3. Temporarily substitute known good IWWM. Reconnect all wiring. Retest system. If wipers continue to operate, replace wiper motor.
