Rear Speed Sensor: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY WITH SKID CONTROL SENSOR 
    1. Install the rear axle hub and bearing assembly with skid control sensor. Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 5 .

      HINT: 

      • The skid control sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the skid control sensor needs to be replaced, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
      • If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
  2. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS  . Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION - Step 4
  3. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB RUNOUT  . Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION - Step 5
  4. INSTALL REAR DISC  . Refer to REASSEMBLY - Step 10
  5. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 9
  6. CONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE 
    1. Connect the connector to the skid control sensor.

      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the speed sensor.

  7. INSTALL REAR WHEEL 

    Torque: 103 N*m (1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

  8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

  9. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    HINT: 

    Refer to the procedure from Inspect and Adjust Rear Wheel Alignment. Refer to ADJUSTMENT .

  10. CHECK SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL 

    HINT: 

    Check speed sensor signal. Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE .
