Rear Upper Control Arm: Installation

HINT:

• Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
• The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
• A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (see SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS ).

1. INSTALL REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
   1. Temporarily install the upper control arm to the frame with the 2 bolts, 2 washers and 2 nuts.
   2. Temporarily install the upper control arm ball joint axle carrier with the nut.

      HINT:

      After stabilizing the suspension, tighten the nuts.

   3. Connect the speed sensor to the axle carrier with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

2. INSTALL REAR WHEEL 
   1. Install the wheel with the 5 nuts.

      Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

3. STABILIZE SUSPENSION (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
4. TIGHTEN REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
   1. Tighten the upper control arm with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 88 N*m (900 kgf*cm, 65 ft.*lbf) for front side labeled A 

      74 N*m (755 kgf*cm, 55 ft.*lbf) for rear side labeled B 

   2. Tighten the ball joint nut.

      Torque: 108 N*m (1,100 kgf*cm, 80 ft.*lbf)

5. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT 
   1. Inspect and adjust the rear wheel alignment (see ADJUSTMENT  ).
6. INSTALL WHEEL HUB ORNAMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
   1. Install the ornament with the 10 bolts.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

7. CHECK SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL 
   1. Check speed sensor signal (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
