Inspection Procedure

NOTE:
If the transponder key ECU is replaced, register the key and ECU communication ID.
- INSPECT FUSE (IGN FUSE)
- Remove the IGN fuse.
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
STANDARD RESISTANCETester Connection Condition Specified Condition IGN fuse Always Below 1 Ω - Reinstall the IGN fuse.
NG: CHECK FOR SHORTS IN ALL HARNESSES AND CONNECTORS CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE
OK: Go to Next Step
- INSPECT FUSE (ECU-B FUSE)
- Remove the ECU-B fuse.
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
STANDARD RESISTANCETester Connection Condition Specified Condition ECU-B fuse Always Below 1 Ω - Reinstall the ECU-B fuse.
NG: CHECK FOR SHORTS IN ALL HARNESSES AND CONNECTORS CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE
OK: Go to Next Step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU - BATTERY)
- Disconnect the E73 transponder key ECU connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard voltage
STANDARD VOLTAGETester Connection Condition Specified Condition E73-1 (+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V E73-2 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch OFF Below 1 V Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V - Reconnect the transponder key ECU connector.
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to Next Step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU - BODY GROUND)
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
STANDARD RESISTANCETester Connection Condition Specified Condition E73-16 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
