Headlight Assembly: Components: Removal

HINT:

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector as shown in the illustration.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts.
    3. w/ Headlight Cleaner:
      1. Disconnect the headlight cleaner hose.

    4. Detach the claw and headlight.
  9. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and bumper side support.

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 HEADLIGHT BACK COVER 
    1. Turn the back cover in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove it.

  11. REMOVE HIGH-INTENSITY DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT BULB 
    1. Turn the bulb in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove the bulb socket.

    2. Release the set spring lock as shown in the illustration and remove the bulb.

  12. REMOVE NO. 2 HEADLIGHT BULB 
    1. Turn the No. 2 headlight bulb in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove it.

  13. REMOVE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT BULB SOCKET 
    1. turn the front turn signal light socket and the front turn signal light bulb in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove them as a unit.

  14. REMOVE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT BULB 
    1. Remove the front unit signal bulb from the front turn signal light socket.
  15. REMOVE CLEARANCE LIGHT BULB SOCKET 
    1. Turn the clearance light socket and clearance light bulb in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove them as a unit.

  16. REMOVE CLEARANCE LIGHT BULB 
    1. Remove the clearance light bulb from the clearance light socket.
  17. REMOVE FRONT SIDE MARKER LIGHT BULB SOCKET 
    1. Turn the front side marker light bulb socket and front side marker light bulb in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove them as a unit.

  18. REMOVE FRONT SIDE MARKER LIGHT BULB 
    1. Remove the front side marker light bulb from the front side marker light socket.
  19. REMOVE LIGHT CONTROL ECU 
    1. Remove the screw and headlight protector.

    2. Remove the 4 screws and ECU cover.
    3. Remove the headlight gasket.

    4. Disconnect the connector and remove the ECU.
