Section 210 (Power Sliding Door): Overhaul
- The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning the installation, it is indicated.
- On the RH side, use the same procedures as on the LH side.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW FRAME MOLDING REAR LH (See REAR DOOR WINDOW FRAME MOLDING REAR LH )
- REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW FRAME MOLDING SUB-ASSY LH (See REAR DOOR WINDOW FRAME MOLDING SUB-ASSY LH )
- REMOVE SLIDE DOOR WINDOW GARNISH LH
- Fully open the slide door window.
- Remove the glass run.
- Using a screwdriver, disengage the clip and remove the garnish.
NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the weatherstrip inner from the garnish.NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- REMOVE SIDE TRIM BOARD COVER REAR LH
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Using a screwdriver, disengage the 8 claws and remove the cover together with the window control switch.NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Remove the 2 screws and window control switch.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSY LH
- Remove the screw.
- Using a screwdriver, disengage the 9 clips and remove the trim board.
NOTE:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- In order to prevent the door panel from being damaged, cover the areas with protective tape as indicated by arrow marks in the illustration.
- Using a clip remover, remove the 6 clips and weatherstrip No. 2.
- Using a screwdriver, disengage the 11 claws and remove the weatherstrip inner from trim board.NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- w/ Sunshade:
Remove the sunshade.
- Remove the 7 screws and sunshade bezel.
- Remove the 4 screws and curtain.
- REMOVE SLIDE DOOR WINDOW ASSY LH
- w/ Sunshade:
Remove the sun shade hook.
- Remove the bolt and window frame.
- Remove the bolt.
- Loosen the nut.
- Push the window frame rear lower in the direction indicated by the arrow mark in the illustration.
- Remove the 2 hole plugs.
- Move the window until the bolts appear in the service holes.NOTE:
- Do not damage the window.
- When the bolts are removed, the window may fall and become deformed.
- Remove the 2 bolts and window.
- w/ Sunshade:
- REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS WEATHERSTRIP ASSY OUTER LH (See REAR DOOR GLASS WEATHERSTRIP ASSY OUTER LH )
- REMOVE SLIDE DOOR
- Remove the rear door scuff plate (See ROOF HEADLINING ASSY ).
- Remove the back door scuff plate (See ROOF HEADLINING ASSY ).
- Remove the quarter trim panel (See ROOF HEADLINING ASSY ).
- Remove the upper rail cushion from the rail
- Disconnect the 2 connectors from the body side and remove the bolt and wire.
- Open the quarter glass.
- Using a screwdriver, disengage the clip and 2 claws, remove the rail end molding.NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Remove the 2 bolts and bracket center No. 2 together with the tensioner (color: white).
- Remove the tensioner from the bracket center No. 2.
- Remove the 2 bolts and bracket center No. 1 together with the tensioner (color: black).
- Remove the tensioner from the bracket center No. 1.
- Remove the 2 nuts and open stop.
- Rotate the base of the slide door roller lower in the direction indicated by arrow in the illustration and then remove he roller from the cut area of the lower rail from the body side.
- Move the slide door rearward and then remove the slide door roller upper from the cut area in the rear part of the slide door rail upper.
- Move the slide door further rearward and then remove the slide door hinge center from the rear part of the slide door rail center. Then, remove the slide door.
- REMOVE SLIDE DOOR RAILS
- Remove the roof headlining (See ROOF HEADLINING ASSY ).
- Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and the rail upper.
- Remove the 2 screws and rear side rail.
- Remove the 3 screws and rail center.
- REMOVE SLIDE DOOR ATTACHMENT CONTROL LH
- Remove the 2 screws, bolt and inside handle.
- Disconnect the connectors from the lock actuator, the power window regulator motor and lock release motor and power slide door lock.
- Disengage the control wires.
- Remove the 8 bolts and attachment control.
- Remove the nut and window frame rear lower.NOTE: When the nut are removed, the window frame may fall and become deformed.NOTE: Remove the window frame rear lower through the service hole.
- Remove the control rod.
- Remove the 3 bolts and lock remote control.
- Remove the 2 screws and lock actuator.
- Remove the 2 screws and lock release motor.
- Remove the 3 screws and power window regulator motor.
- Remove the half stop control lever and door lock control bellcrank.
- Remove the 4 bolts and the window regulator.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER LH
- Remove the outside handle hole cover.
- Using a Torx socket wrench (T30), loosen the screw and remove the outside handle cover with the lock key cylinder installed.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSY LH
- Pushing and pulling the outside handle in the direction indicated by the arrow mark in the illustration, remove the outside handle.
- Remove the outside handle pads front and rear.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSY LH
- Remove the open rod to the outside handle frame.
- Using a Torx socket wrench (T30), loosen the screw.
- Slide the outside handle frame in the direction indicated by the arrow mark in the illustration and remove it.
NOTE: Remove the outside handle frame through the service hole. - Remove the 2 clips and 4 bolts from the lower part of the control motor and clutch.
- Remove the control motor and clutch.NOTE: Remove the motor and clutch through the service hole.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR STIFFENER CUSHION LH
- Remove the 2 screws, clip and stiffener cushion.NOTE: Remove the stiffener cushion through the service hole.
- Remove the 2 grommets and 2 clips.
- Remove the 2 screws, clip and stiffener cushion.
- REMOVE SLIDE DOOR LOCK ASSY FRONT LH
- Disconnect the 2 cables.
- Using a Torx socket wrench (T30), remove the 3 screws and lock.
NOTE: Remove the lock front through the service hole. - REMOVE POWER SLIDE DOOR LOCK ASSY LH
- Disconnect the cable and wire.
- Using a Torx socket wrench (T30), remove the 3 screws.
- Remove the bolt and lock.
NOTE: Remove the lock through the service hole. - REMOVE REAR DOOR WIRE SUB-ASSY LH
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 clips and wire.
NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. - REMOVE SLIDE DOOR FULL OPEN STOP LOCK ASSY LH
- Disconnect the 2 cables.
- Remove the 2 bolts and full open stop lock.
- REMOVE POWER SLIDE DOOR ECU LH
- Remove the 2 screws and power slide door ECU with the warning buzzer.
- Disengage the claw and remove the warning buzzer.
- REMOVE POWER SLIDE DOOR TOUCH SENSOR LH
- Disconnect the connector.
- Remove the 5 screws and touch sensor.
- REMOVE SLIDE DOOR ROLLER ASSY LOWER LH
- Remove the 3 bolts and roller.
- REMOVE SLIDE DOOR HINGE ASSY CENTER LH
- Remove the 3 bolts and hinge.
- LH side:
Remove the cover.
- REMOVE SLIDE DOOR ROLLER ASSY UPPER
- Remove the 2 bolts and roller.
- INSTALL SLIDE DOOR ROLLER ASSY UPPER
- Apply MP grease to the rotating area of the roller.
- Install the roller with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 13 N.m (130 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)
- INSTALL SLIDE DOOR HINGE ASSY CENTER LH
- Apply MP grease to the rotating areas of the hinge.
- Install the hinge with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 31 N.m (316 kgf.cm, 23 ft.lbf)
- INSTALL SLIDE DOOR ROLLER ASSY LOWER LH
- Apply MP grease to the rotating areas of the roller.
- Install the roller with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 31 N.m (316 kgf.cm, 23 ft.lbf)
- INSTALL POWER SLIDE DOOR TOUCH SENSOR LH
- Install the touch sensor with the 4 screws.
- Connect the connector.
- Fix the wire harness inside the door panel with the clip.
- INSTALL SLIDE DOOR FULL OPEN STOP LOCK ASSY LH
- Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating areas of the lock.
- Install the lock with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in..lbf)
- Install the 2 cables.
- INSTALL REAR DOOR WIRE SUB-ASSY LH
- Install the wire.NOTE: When installing the wire, push the areas where the clips are installed in order to prevent damage and deformation.
- Install the 2 screws.
- Install the wire.
- INSTALL POWER SLIDE DOOR LOCK ASSY LH
- Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating areas of the lock.
- Apply adhesive to the threads of the 3 screws.
Adhesive:
Part No. 08833-00070, THREE BOND 1324 or equivalent
- Using a Torx socket wrench (T30), install the lock to the door panel with the 3 screws.
Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in..lbf)
- Install the bolt.
Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in..lbf)
- Connect the connector and cable.
- INSTALL SLIDE DOOR LOCK ASSY FRONT LH
- Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating areas of the lock.
- Apply adhesive to the threads of the 3 screws.
Adhesive:
Part No. 08833-00070, THREE BOND 1324 or equivalent
- Using a Torx socket wrench (T30), install the lock to the door panel with the 3 screws.
Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in..lbf)
- Connect the 2 cables.
- INSTALL REAR DOOR STIFFENER CUSHION LH
- Install the 2 grommets and 2 clips.
- Install the stiffener cushion with the clip and 2 screws.
- INSTALL POWER SLIDE DOOR CONTROL MOTOR AND CLUTCH LH
- Tighten the 4 bolts on the lower part of the control motor and clutch.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in..lbf)
- Fix the wires with the 2 clips respectively.
- RH side:
Tighten the bolt indicated by the arrow in the illustration together with the earth wire.
- Tighten the 3 bolts on the upper part of the control motor and clutch.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in..lbf)
- Tighten the 4 bolts on the lower part of the control motor and clutch.
- INSTALL REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSY LH
- Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating areas of the frame.
- Slide the outside handle frame in the indicated by the arrow mark in the illustration.
- Using a Torx socket wrench (T30), install the frame with the screw as shown in the illustration.
Torque: 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in..lbf)
NOTE: Insert a cover between the nut and door panel. - Install the open rod.
- INSTALL REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSY LH
- Install the outside handle pads front and rear.
- Pushing the handle in the direction indicated by the arrow mark in the illustration, install the handle.
NOTE: If the release plate is not pulled and held when installing the outside handle, it will strike against with the outside handle and become damaged. - INSTALL REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER LH
- Using a Torx socket wrench (T30), install the outside handle cover with the screw.
Torque: 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in..lbf)
- Install the outside handle hole cover.
- Using a Torx socket wrench (T30), install the outside handle cover with the screw.
- INSTALL SLIDE DOOR ATTACHMENT CONTROL LH
- Temporarily install the window frame rear lower with the nut.
- Move the window frame rear lower in the direction indicated by the arrow mark in the illustration.
- Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating areas of the window regulator.
- Install the window regulator with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in..lbf)
- Install the half stop control lever and door lock control bell-crank.
- Install the power window regulator motor with the 3 screws.
Torque: 5.5 N.m (58 kgf.cm, 49 in..lbf)
- Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating areas of the door lock remote control.
- Install the lock remote control with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 5.5 N.m (58 kgf.cm, 49 in..lbf)
- Install the lock release motor with the 2 screws.
Torque: 5.5 N.m (58 kgf.cm, 49 in..lbf)
- Install the control rod.
- Install the lock actuator with the 2 screws.
Torque: 5.5 N.m (58 kgf.cm, 49 in..lbf)
- Install the control rod.
- LH side:
Install the attachment control with the 8 bolts.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in..lbf)
- RH side:
Install the attachment control with the 6 bolts.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in..lbf)
- RH side:
Tighten the 2 bolts indicated by the arrow together with the earth wire.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in..lbf)
- Install the inside handle with the 2 screws and bolt.
Torque: 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in..lbf)
- Install the control rod.
- Install the control cables and the wires.

- Install the rail center with the 3 screws.
Torque: 26 N.m (265 kgf.cm, 19 ft.lbf)
- Install the rear side rail with the 2 screws.
Torque: 19.5 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)
- Install the rail upper with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 8 ft.lbf)
- Install the roof headlining (See ROOF HEADLINING ASSY ).
- Install the rail center with the 3 screws.
- INSTALL SLIDE DOOR
- Put in the slide door hinge center from the rear part of the slide door rail center.
- Move the slide door forward and then put in the slide door roller upper into the cut area of the slide door rail upper.
- Rotate the base of the slide door roller lower in the direction indicated by arrow in the illustration and then put in the roller into the cut area of the rail lower of the body.
- Install the open stop with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in..lbf)
- Connect the open tensioner (color: white) to the bracket center No. 2 on the rear side of the vehicle.NOTE:
- The open tensioner (color: white) should be placed higher up than the close tensioner (color: black) at their cross point.
- Be careful for the place where the tensioner are installed.
- Install the bracket center No. 2 connected to the open tensioner (color: white) with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in..lbf)
- Connect the close tensioner (color: black) to the bracket center No. 1 on the front side of the vehicle.NOTE:
- The close tensioner (color: black) should be placed lower than the open tensioner (color: white) at their cross point.
- Be careful for the place where the tensioner is installed.
- Install the bracket center No. 1 connected to the close tensioner (color: black) with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in..lbf)
- Install the end molding.
- Install the upper rail cushion to the rail upper.
- Install the wire with the bolt.
Torque: 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in..lbf)
- Connect the 2 connectors.
- Install the quarter trim panel (See ROOF HEADLINING ASSY ).
- Install the back door scuff plate (See ROOF HEADLINING ASSY ).
- Install the rear door scuff plate (See ROOF HEADLINING ASSY ).
- INSTALL SLIDE DOOR WINDOW ASSY LH
- Open the door glass until the bolts appear in the service holes.
- Install the window with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in..lbf)
- Install the hole plug.
- Put the window frame rear lower in the original position and tighten the nut.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in..lbf)
- Install the bolt.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in..lbf)
- Install the window frame with the bolt.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in..lbf)
- Install the glass run.
