Switch Circuit

  1. Disconnect wiper/washer switch and wiper relay connectors. Check wiring harness continuity and voltage. With ignition switch in LOCK or ACC position, check voltage between ground and terminal No. 14 of connector "B". See Fig 1. No voltage should be present. With ignition on, check voltage between ground and terminal No. 8 of connector "C". Battery voltage should be present. If voltage readings are as specified, go to next step. If voltage readings are not as specified, check and repair affected circuit(s).
  2. Check continuity between terminal No. 6 of connector "B" and ground. See Fig 1. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check and repair affected circuit(s).
  3. Check continuity between terminal No. 1 of connector "A" and terminal No. 4 of connector "C". See Fig 1. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check and repair affected circuit(s).
  4. Check continuity between terminal No. 2 of connector "A" and terminal No. 14 of connector "C". If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check and repair affected circuit(s).
  5. Check continuity between terminal No. 10 of connector "A" and terminal No. 7 of connector "C". If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check and repair affected circuit(s).
  6. Check continuity between terminal No. 11 of connector "A" and terminal No. 18 of connector "C". See Fig 1. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check and repair affected circuit(s).
  7. Check continuity between terminal No. 5 of connector "B" and terminal No. 10 of connector "C". If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check and repair affected circuit(s).
  8. Check continuity between terminal No. 11 of connector "B" and terminal No. 13 of connector "C". If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check and repair affected circuit(s).
  9. Check continuity between terminal No. 12 of connector "B" and terminal No. 14 of connector "C". If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check and repair affected circuit(s).
  10. Check continuity between terminal No. 13 of connector "B" and terminal No. 11 of connector "C". If continuity exists, all switch circuits are okay. If continuity does not exist, check and repair affected circuit(s).
