Self-Diagnostic System: Notes

The ECT ECU monitors transmission operation and contains a self-diagnostic system which stores fault codes if transmission electronic control system fails. If a fault code is stored, the OD OFF indicator light on instrument panel will blink to inform driver of a failure.

Transmission fault codes are displayed through OD OFF indicator light on instrument panel. Before using OD OFF indicator light to diagnose system, check that OD OFF indicator light is functioning properly. See VERIFYING OD OFF INDICATOR LIGHT .
