Throttle Position Sensor Circuit

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect a DVOM to Total Diagnostic Connector Link (TDCL) connector terminals TT and E1. The TDCL is located behind driver's side of instrument panel. See Figure. Turn ignition on. DO NOT  start engine. Slowly depress accelerator pedal until throttle full open position is reached. DO NOT  depress brake pedal during test.
  2. Voltage should change in steps, one volt at a time, until 5 volts is reached. If voltage is not as specified, refer to the appropriate article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section. If voltage is as specified, main throttle position sensor is functioning properly. Perform symptom diagnostics. See TROUBLE SHOOTING .
