Te1 Terminal Circuit

  1. Turn ignition on. Connect a DVOM between terminals TE1 and E1 of Total Diagnostic Communication Link (TDCL) or check connector. The TDCL is located behind driver's side of instrument panel. Check connector is located on top left front corner of engine. See Figure.
  2. Voltage should be 5 volts. If the voltage is not 5 volts, go to the next step. If the voltage is 5 volts, TE1 circuit is functioning properly, perform TROUBLE SHOOTING  procedures.
  3. Check for defective wiring between ECT ECU connector, TDCL connector, check connector and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair wiring as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace ECT ECU.
