Codes 11 & 12

This relay supplies power to each ABS actuator solenoid. After the ignition switch is turned on, if the initial check is OK, the relay goes on. If the trouble occurs in the solenoid relay circuit, the ECU cuts off current to the solenoid relay and prohibits the ABS control (Fail safe function)

CODES 11 & 12 CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

Code Diagnostic Code Detecting Condition Trouble Area
11 When the ECU is sending ON signal to the ABS actuator solenoid relay, terminal AST of the ECU is 0 V. *  Solenoid relay. (Remains OFF). *  Harness and connector between ABS actuator and ECU. (open or short in SR, R-l AST harness). *  Harness and connector between battery and ABS actuator. *  ECU
12 When the ECU is not sending an ON signal tothe ABS actuator solenoid relay, terminal AST of the ECU is battery voltage. *  Solenoid relay. (Remains ON) *  Harness and connector between ABS actuator and ECU. (+B short in SR, AST harness) *  ECU
