ISSUE

Content

On a small number of L538 (Evoque) and L359 (Freelander 2) vehicles, P244A, P2454, P2455 and/or P2456 may be flagged and on occasions vehicles can simultaneously experience restricted performance.

CAUSE

Internal capacitor failure within DPF sensor.

ACTION

Carry out normal diagnosis procedures as per TOPIx to identify all possible fail modes. If tests are inconclusive or no errors are identified, replace the DPF sensor followed by necessary sensor adaption process. (see TOPIx Workshop manual, section 17048)

NOTE: Although the part is not yet up-suffixed, when ordering (LR023131 Freelander 2 or LR028861 Evoque) you will now be recieving a DPF sensor with an improved design. These improved parts can be identified by a encircled (1) in the top right hand corner of the label (see picture attached). A new part number will be released to TOPIx in the coming weeks.
