    NOTE:

    Use of drilling lubricant required.

  8. Using a suitable drill motor and the supplied step drill bit with stop collar (1) properly adjusted to the correct depth, drill the hole until the stop collar touches the top of the drill bushing. Start the drill rotation after the drill is inside of the busing to prevent dulling of the cutting edges. This will require removing the drill and bushing several times to clear the metal chips.

  10. Tap (1) through the drill bushing until the tap bottoms out. This will require removing the tap and bushing several times to clear metal chips. Clean all of the metal chips and debris using a brake or contact cleaner that will not leave an oily residue.
  11. Use a flashlight to inspect the hole for chips and cleanliness. The hole must be clean and dry.

  12. Lubricate the threads of the driver tool (2) with Time-Sert™ driver oil J-42385-110 or equivalent, using caution not to get oil onto the outer threads of the insert (1).
  13. Screw an insert (1) onto the driver tool, rotating 2 turns.

  14. Apply a drop of the supplied sealer (1) on the bottom threads of the insert and screw the insert into the prepared hole. When the head of the insert is seated, the driver will tighten up. Tighten the insert to 12 NM to seat the insert, then remove the insert driver.
  15. Remove tape and thoroughly clean any residue.
    NOTE:

When installing the cylinder head, the proper torque sequence and torque MUST be followed in accordance with the service procedures.
