Engine Compartment

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - 3.6L or BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - 5.7L .

2. Remove the front PDC cover by pushing inward on the latches.

3. Remove the eyelet fasteners and disconnect the eyelet terminals from the PDC.
4. Loosen the captive screws to release the electrical connections under the upper PDC.

5. Release the lock tabs and remove the upper PDC from the lower PDC.

6. Release and remove the upper PDC electrical connectors from the lower tray by pulling upward from the lower PDC. Be careful not to damage the connectors.
7. Remove the eyelet fasteners and remove the eyelet terminals from the PDC.

8. Remove the fasteners securing the lower PDC to the body.
9. Carefully lift the PDC from vehicle. If equipped, disconnect the wire harness connector from the bottom of the lower PDC and remove the PDC from the vehicle.
10. If needed, remove the Dual Battery Switch Module (DBSM) or Power Control Relay (PCR). Refer to MODULE, DUAL BATTERY SWITCH (DBSM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

INSTALLATION 

1. If removed, install the DBSM or PCR and tighten the fasteners securely.
2. Position the lower PDC into the vehicle and install the fasteners. Tighten the fasteners to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
3. Install the eyelet terminals to the lower PDC and tighten eyelet fasteners to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
4. Position and secure the upper PDC electrical connectors to the lower PDC.
5. Carefully position the upper PDC to the lower PDC and make sure the lock tabs are seated fully. Tighten the captive screws to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
6. Position the eyelet terminals and install the eyelet fasteners. Tighten the eyelet fasteners to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
7. Install the PDC cover.
8. Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - 3.6L or BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - 5.7L .
