Removal And Installation: Installation

NOTE:

Do not reuse the old steering wheel nut (a new nut must be used)

Slide the steering wheel over the splined steering column shaft.
NOTE:
Be certain that the steering wheel nut is tightened to the proper torque specification to ensure proper clockspring operation.
Install the NEW steering wheel nut (2) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to COLUMN, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
Connect the wire harness connectors (1, 3).
Install the driver air bag. Refer to AIR BAG, DRIVER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
