Section 681 (Front Half Shaft): Installation

- Using the axle seal protector (special tool #10270, Protector, Half Shaft, Drive) (1), install the half shafts in the axle. Verify the half shaft has engaged.NOTE:
Use care when removing the seal protector to prevent damaging the seal.
- Install a NEW coated washer on the outer CV joint shaft.
- Install the half shafts through the hub/bearing.
- Install the shock clevis on lower control arm and tighten the nut to the proper specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

- Install the upper control arm on the knuckle and tighten the ball joint nut to the proper specifications. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

- Install the tie rod end (1) on the knuckle and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the stabilizer link (7, 5) on lower control arm and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the brake caliper. Refer to CALIPER, DISC BRAKE, INSTALLATION

- Install wheel speed sensor (2) on the hub/bearing.NOTE:
Always install a NEW hub nut. The original hub nut is one-time use only and should be discarded when removed.
- Install the tire and wheel assembly and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the wheel and tire assemblies.
- Pump brake pedal until caliper pistons and brake pads are seated and a firm brake pedal is obtained.
